Ministries

INTRODUCTION

The daily drama for so many living in Haiti after the seism (2010) and the ongoing natural disasters is a saga of hunger, malnutrition, diseases, joblessness, lack of access to social services and minimum living standards such as : water, infrastructure, education, training and healthcare. Those predicaments compel Haitian immigrants from different part of the World to put together a structure to alleviate the situation. Hence, the creation of IMPACT whose acronym stands for: Interfaith Migrant Partnership to Achieve Change and Transformation.

IMPACT is a non-profit religious organization operating in countries hosting the Haitian diaspora and geared toward rebuilding broken lives. Our goal is to harness the power of the immigrant communities to help the marginalized lift themselves out of poverty. It’s all about people helping people to stand on their own feet and to build stable and secure lives.

BIBLICAL RATIONALE

Our biblical rationale stems from the injunction to the Eastern tribes of Israel not to quit the fight after they had reached their own destination until the whole nation is safely settled in Canaan.

You shall passed before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them, until the Lord has given your brethren rest, as He gave you… (Joshua 1:14-15)

PROJECTS & PROGRAMS

  • Develop projects in the areas of water, infrastructure, education, healthcare, nutrition and training
  • Run a mobile dispensary system for medical outreach
  • Implement a microcredit system to empower women
  • Building productivity and physical capital through entrepreneurial projects
  • Implement capacity-building programs designed to mobilize competencies acquired by Haitian nationals.

I M P A C T

Interfaith Migrant Partnership to Achieve Change and Transformation

PHILOSOPHY:

Our philosophy of ministry is to empower people to contextualize productive elements of their life and work in their communities.

PURPOSE:

We aim to inspire transformation, first, internally, by uprooting spiritual, social and psychological causes of poverty rather than reacting to external manifestations stemming from deeper issues.

CORE VALUES:

Our core values are: solidarity, discipline, excellence, labor and integrity.

OUR MISSION:

Our mission is to facilitate the development of diaspora-centric partnership with Haiti by connecting the local communities with external resources in a comprehensive strategy.

OUR VISION:

Our vission is to become the primary Christian networking organization abroad facilitating initiatives and events to form a chain of solidarity around Haiti with a commitment to sustainable development.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Build a dynamic network of passionate Immigrant Christians living abroad
  • Raise and channel funding into projects that would benefit the poor and ensure financial sustainability.
  • To serve as liaison between different institutions private or public, local or international.
  • Mobilize the Haitian intelligentsia trained abroad in transferring competencies thereby, converting brain-drain into brain-gain.
  • Develop partnerships with philanthropic organizations in a solidarity network to accelerate changes in Haiti.

STRATEGY:

Our initial approach to this task is rather measured and balanced. As we move forward, we will seek to continuously enhancing the momentum and scope of all projects through a process of community entry, evaluation, engagement and expansion.

EVALUATION:

What would success look like? Our approach is transformational. We will measure results quantitatively as well as qualitatively, assessing our processes, outcomes; and ultimately, our impact at both the communal and the individual level. We will not hesitate to modify and adjust to ensure that our core values are protected.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP

It is so simple! Join the battle today and make a lasting IMPACT! A different battle was raged in 1804. A new battle is raging in HAITI today! Your contribution to win that battle is critical. Long ago, another battle was lost because a horse has lost his shoe….

For the want of a nail a shoe was lost….for the want of a shoe… a horse was lost ….for the want of a horse the rider was lost …. For the want of a rider, the battle was lost.’

What a tragedy! Yet, for the want of one caring person, another battle may be lost!
